Thank You!

Thank you everyone for coming to our wedding! It was an amazing time and it was wonderful that we were able to share it with you. We hope you had just as great a time as we did.

After Party!

We've arranged for the lounge and bar at the Courtyard Marriott to remain open past normal hours for our guests. If you can, please join us after the wedding as we wind down the evening with one last drink!

Dinner Options!

Last call for dinner options! We'll be serving a vegetarian portobello mushroom ravioli or a mustard chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables. You really can't go wrong with either, but you do have a choice.

Courtyard Marriott.

It seems like the Courtyard Marriott is STILL having issues giving out the special Lowe-Hakola Wedding rate. Email your reservation request directly to Teresa Pegorari, the director of sales. She would prefer emails to phone calls. Here is her info:

626-755-2521
teresa.pegorari@dimdev.com

If that doesn't work, please let Richard or Chelsee know and we will contact her ourselves.

Also, book as soon as you can because the rate will expire soon.

Tux Fitting.

Richard and two of his groomsmen, Scott and Kekona, went for a tux fitting last week. Here are some pictures!

Virgin America -- Even Cheaper!

My brother and Best Man pointed out the new airline Virgin America has flights between SFO and LAX for only $44.

Virgin America

I've never flown on Virgin America, but I have flown on Virgin Airlines and they're great. I'm sure Virgin America is just as good. One thing to note is that they only fly to LAX and not to Burbank, which is farther from Pasadena. Virgin America would be a good choice if you can't find any deals on Southwest.

Thanks for the heads up, Michael. Stay cool.

Engagement Photos.

Photos from our engagement sitting are now up!

Here are our two favorites:

Chelsee & Richard's Engagement Sitting Photo Album

Richard finds it interesting that in some photos he looks like he's balding while in others it looks like he has a mohawk. He believes that's the kind of versatility that's going to take him places. Also, a few pictures caught Chelsee in Drew Barrymore Mode.

Enjoy!

Engagement Pictures!

You will soon be able to see our engagement pictures under the "Photos" link! Last week we went to Venice and Santa Monica with our photographer Ellice. As part of our wedding package she took some fun shots of the two of us -- to be used for whatever we please, such as in a guest book or a slide show at the wedding. We had a great time, though it felt rather silly being photographed like models! We walked around Main Street and then went out kite flying on the shore. Hopefully the pictures turn out well! Check back later this week!

Cake Tasting & Ring Shopping.

We started our productive wedding weekend with cake tasting, visiting Porto's in Glendale and Cakeland in Downey. Porto's had some delicious cake, but we left more in love with their potato balls and tamales than their buttercream and raspberry. Cakeland, on the other hand, was great. Owned by Hector Navarro who has 22 years experience baking cakes, the small, cramped bakery is a gem. We tasted a bunch of samples and they were all great. What made the choice easy, though, was Hector. He was extremely friendly and took the time to sit with us and talk about each cake. Personal service really counts for something!

We're going with a three-tier cake and each tier will be a different flavor. We've decided on white cake with strawberry, bavarian cake with raspberry and chocolate cake with chocolate fudge (a Chelsee must have!).

We also went ring shopping today and found our wedding bands. We started in San Gabriel, trying our hand with bargain shopping at the Chinese jewelry stores (though can you really call them stores?). It seemed promising--the prices were cheap and the rings looked authentic enough. Then, at one jewelry stand, we asked the sales person for a specific ring. He proceeded to dig through a shoebox full of loose diamond rings to pull out a few matches. We politely walked away and drove to Brentwood.

Cabochon was where we ended up. Situated on Montana Ave., it's a nice boutique jewelry store. Richard picked out a shiny gold ring and Chelsee found one with small diamonds all the way around that matched her engagement ring.

It was a great weekend. Now if only the weather was better!
